Various Artists – Pingipung blows: the Brass
Pingipung 10

As we loved our first compilation, we put another classical musical instrument in the focus of electronic music production: after piano, it’s brass instruments now. 16 selected musicians followed our invitation to use the sounds the golden family as central characters in their tracks, without stylistic limitations. What fantastic, dedicated main parts the members of Pingipung roster have written for them! At times, the brass instruments are bouncing in some hyper Ska euphoria, then they're floating in calm sobriety. At times their sounds originate from an orchestra, then they come from instruments which cannot really be blown. Eventually we're even asked to create our own instruments in our minds. The invitation to the artists ultimately turns into an invitation to the listeners – an invitation to join for a trip on sound, where the vehicle constantly changes.

“A themed compilation that succeeds in proffering up a broad range of sounds without either deviating from the core conceit nor becoming suffocated by it.” (

“The melancholy that was present on some moments of the 'Piano' compilation has been blown away completely by existent and non-existent brass instruments.” (foxydigitalis)
