Peter Presto

Peter Presto

In 2001, Pingipung founder Nils Dittbrenner returned from an extended summer holiday on the French Ile d’Oléron, and with him he brought four beautiful pieces of freshly recorded music. Peter Presto was born! Corresponding to the location of creation, his music is soaked with airy harmonies and relaxed, swaying offbeats which Nils Dittbrenner adapted from his love of Dub and Ska. Next to Carribean music, his passion is for video games which explains his affection for childish, catchy melodic hooklines. A broader audience took notice of Peter Presto after his smart adaptation of the infamous, unintentionally funny speech on the new Transrapid train by an unintentionally funny Bavarian politician. Peter Presto’s bestseller though is a rather modest song, a waltz composed in Japan, called "Naruto Shi Naruto Sho". In times of Google as the orientation device of choice its title encouraged thousands of manga fans to buy this track online as it suggests a reference to a popular animation series.
We also feature Peter Presto on our compilations Kami Eins, Pingipung plays: the Piano and Pingipung blows: the Brass.
