Hey-Ø-Hansen

The summer of 1995 was a season of changes for Helmut Erler. Not only was the Austrian musician dropped by his girlfriend, he also quit his job as a photographer and left his band projects (in which he was a drummer). Instead he bought a second hand 8 track recorder and brought it to the remote house of his grandmother, on a river in the Tyrolian mountains. Despite all these events, that summer should turn into the most wonderful of his life. That's how legend has the origin of Hey-O-Hansen’s music. Many summers followed this one, and even if it’s cold outside, the sun is always shining in the dub-charged chansons of Hey-O-Hansen. Soon Helmut Erler, called Hey, moved to Berlin and started working as a mastering engineer and producer for his own label heyrec. Most of his music has been created together with his partner Michael Wolf, a painter and all-round artist. Recently the two have been joined by Olaf Rupp on guitars and Japanese vocalist Kazumi.
