Goto80

Anders Carlsson, aka Goto80, is one of the key characters of the international 8Bit chiptunes scene. Computer Music Magazine recently marked him as "the most prolific chip music artist", and HAIP festival even tagged him "the most uncompromising". They were probably thinking of the more than 300 songs which the swedish composer created just in the years 2007/08! Ranging from grindcore to ambient, his sound is located in the genre of chiptunes, which means that the music is produced with computers which are outfashioned and discarded everywhere else but in this scene. Goto80’s preference is to work with the sounds and glitches of the Commodore C-64, a home computer released in 1982, when Carlsson was 2 years old. His dexterity with this very limited hardware has brought him invitations to festivals like Transmediale, Mapping or Hulsfred. Meanwhile he has played in over 150 locations all over the world, together with U-ziq, Plaid or DAT Politics. His oddest public appearence may have been on Swedish TV, as an up-and-coming artist, covered with lettuce.

Apart from his album we also feature Goto80 on Pingipung blows: the Brass.
