After two releases under the Vanishing Breed moniker Alexander J. Holmes decided that he wanted to straighten up his musical persona and therefore dropped his artist name in favour of his real one. In 2007 we released the first album by A.J. Holmes, on which he creates a breathtaking combination of his trademark sound of West African Hi-Life guitars with European electronic pop. While he was living in Berlin, he joined "Les Beaux Gosses de Berlin", a 13-strong and very performative rumba band. Nevertheless he moved back to Hackney, East London, in 2008. There he is on the successful mission to bring African sounds to London’s parties, organizing the "Secousse" nights with Radioclit and others. He has just rounded up his new band "The Hackney Empire", watch out everybody!
